BetterZip 1.7.2 Released

I have just released a new version. This one fixes a few crasher bugs from the previous version. The crash reporter is already paying off.

BetterZip still has one issue that I am aware of that I haven't been able to fix: Extracting multiple RAR archives at the same time will crash BetterZip, because the RAR library wasn't built for parallel use and I wasn't aware of the problem until recently. I will add checks to prevent the parallel extraction of RAR archives in the next version, but until then, please, just don't do it. Also, opening a RAR archive while another is extracting leads to the same crash.

Does this spftware have "join" feature (like in Split & Concat), if not, is there a plan to include that in the future !

No, it doesn't have a join feature yet, but I'd love to have this myself, so it'll probably find its way into one of the next versions.

Would you say by v.2.0 it would have also also .par support ?

PAR support is on my list, but I can't say when exactly it will be added.

Im new to Mac, and surprisingly it was VERY hard to find a replacement for PC's Winrar! A simple thing on PC like creating multivolumed archive appeared to be hard to do on Mac! After many days I finally solved that rediculous problem with BetterZip's help, so I just wanna say THANK YOU!
I've tried a few popular programs for mac, but they didn't do such an elementary thing!
As for Beterzip I had to "manually attach" rar compressor in Properties, but anyway it's working! i can finally create rar files with all the options.

...maybe i could only wish that Betterzip will be one day integrated in context menu just like winrar on PC, that would be extremelly convenient and i think leave competitors like stuffit and so on far behind )

I tried using 1.7.2 but nothing happens... ever. The program opens and I can add files. I can tell it to extract and choose where ... then nothing. No error no message no progress bar... nothing. What am I doing wrong? I tried 5 files that were all working with archiver, 7-zip, Stuffit(eww), ez-7z(just for 7z), and unarchiver. They all said the files were ok and extracted them but none of them are a good all-in-one like this is. I am willing to buy it if it is a good program but in my setup it is not even a working program.

After you opened one of your archives, does BetterZip display its contents in a window? What version of Mac OS X do you use? Does the console display any messages?
