BetterZip 1.8 Has Landed
Many times over the last months I received e-mails from users requesting that BetterZip should be able to move archives to the trash once they have been extracted successfully.
Many others complained that BetterZip should not pop the Finder in your face after extracting an archive. For all of you, here's a little screenshot from the new preferences window:

Furthermore, XAR archives (the format of the new Leopard installer packages) are now first-class citizens in BetterZip, i.e., you can open, extract, and create XAR archives.
He Yunxuan created a Chinese translation which is also included with the new version.
There are many bug fixes and smaller enhancements in the new version as well. Find all the details in the version history.

you are an awesome developer. just saying.
*blush*
absolutely right, all i wished for, now it´s perfect! Thx a lot!
I just noticed this update when I glanced at the list of blog posts. The Download Now box on the upper right still says Current Version: 1.7.3. You might want to bump that to read 1.8.
While I'm at it, I'll drop a feature request (just cause I don't want to bother registering a username in the forum to toss one there). There's a new archive format I've run into recently and it would be nice to have support for it. The format is a lzma compressed tar file, either .tar.lz or .tlz. Its the UINXy way of doing things I guess. The .tar.lz is to 7zip what .tar.gz is to zip.
Oops, thanks for the hint about the sidebar.
I'll add tar.lz in one of the next versions.
Thanks for featuring BetterZip in MUPromo; You have done a great service to the Mac community by doing this
Hoping you a great business in the future
Thanks, Chriswan!
