Do you use version 1.7.3 on all these machines, especially on those on which you try to extract the archive? Can you reproduce the effect with smaller archives, e.g. 3 MB? Does this happen when you download the archive to your original Mac to another folder? I have recreated your workflow, but can't reproduce the behavior.
