Missing file in multi-part rar causes password dialog
Hello Robert,
While I was trying to unarchive a multi-part rar archive (.r00, .r01, etc) that was missing a single file (.r04), BetterZip presented me with a password dialog.
This instead of an error message saying a file was missing from the multi-part archive.
After locating the missing archive and placing it in the directory, the archive expanded correctly. No password required.
I'm running v1.8.1.
Any thoughts?
Kind regards,
Lorenzo

Depending on the archive's contents and its compression format you might be able to extract the archive partly. You can try an "Emergency Extraction" by pressing Control+Option+Command+R in BetterZip.
hi, What about rar archives that have also file structure under password? Betterzip open this file, but doesn't ask for password and there are no files to extract. Pretty annoying. Is it possible to somehow fix it or am I doomed to use unrar from command line?
I don't understand what you mean with "file structure under password". Can you explain or do you have an example archive?
