Nested Zipfile support
BetterZip is getting close to being REALLY useful for me.
As a java developer, I am playing a lot with ear-files, which have war-files in them , which in their turn can contain jar-files, etc...
In WINRAR it is possible to "drill down" from the ear-file to the war-file and in there, change a setting in e.g. the web.xml.
WINRAR then updates the changed war-file and afterwards updates the ear-file too, since it now contains a new version of the war-file.
Would it be possible to have this kind of nested zipfile support?

(4.9)
(4.6)

Yes, this should work with the next major version that will be able to save changes back to the archive.
Ditto. I came across this utility as JarInspector stopped working after upgrading to 10.6 - nested jar (i.e. tar) browsing would be very useful.
I wasn't sure from the comments above if the nested browsing feature will also be in the next version or just the saving feature?
I will add both features, updating and nested browsing.
haha, I am not the only person who used jarinspector, which was a so must-have for Java developer, until the 64-bit update.
besides browsing nested zip files, jarinspector has another important feature to search inside nested zip file too, which is so useful to inspect the bad build.
one feature I hate about betterzip is, when I double a "folder", it extracts the files, I want it to expand, instead of extracting.
keep in mind, the reason why most of people use betterzip is not to extract files, but to inspect the zipped files. there are plenty of tools out there that can extract files faster.
any idea, when will the next major release come?
