Collect Mode

Collect Mode is a new way to build an archive in BetterZip 6. When the files you want to add to an archive are scattered across folders and performing many drag-and-drop operations gets tiring, the Collect mode can help.

Starting Collect Mode

There are three ways to start:

• From Finder: right-click anywhere and choose BetterZip > Start collecting items in a new archive from the Finder contextual menu. This will open a new archive window and switch it to Collect mode. This will not add the clicked files.
• In BetterZip: choose File > Collect from Clipboard.
• In an archive window: click the Collect button in the toolbar.

Adding files

In Finder, select files or folders and press ⌘C. Then browse to another folder, find more files, copy them too. Each copy adds the items to the archive windows in Collect mode. You can review the archive and remove items you didn’t mean to add.

Finishing the archive

When you’ve collected everything, go back to the archive window and click Save.
