Settings – Places
The Places tab manages your favorite folders: the destinations that show up in the Favorites sidebar, the Move Archive menu, the Extract menu, and the menus of the Finder extension.
For how the Favorites sidebar itself works inside an archive window, see The Favorites Sidebar.
The Places Table
The table lists every folder you’ve added, with four checkbox columns:
- Sidebar: show the folder in the Favorites sidebar of every archive window.
- Move: include the folder in the Move Archive menu so you can quickly move the currently open archive there.
- Extract: include the folder in the Extract menu so you can quickly extract to it.
- Finder: include the folder in the Finder extension menus.
Add a folder by dragging it into the table from the Finder, or with the + button. Remove one with –. Drag rows to reorder.
Show Trash in the “Move Archive” menu
Adds the Trash as an option in the Move menu, for quickly disposing of an archive you’ve finished with.
Restore Defaults
Brings back BetterZip’s starting set of places (Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.). Existing custom entries are preserved.
